Purple SoftStretch Sheets (10/10)

*I feel obligated to mention here that there are clearly reviews for the SOFTSTRETCH sheets that are definitely referring to the ORIGINAL Purple Sheets. Be wary if a review mentions "I've had these sheets for years and they're great!" No one could have had these for more than maybe a few months max,... as this is a new(ish) product that Purple just started selling. Packaging is pristine and I felt myself getting excited in unboxing these sheets because of the packaging design. Gives off a an Apple vibe, the very experience-forward packaging. The sheets themselves come with a Flat Sheet, a Fitted Sheet, and two Pillow Cases. The material they use is INCREDIBLE. I had the original Purple sheets and they were what I would say is an 8/10 when accounting for certain factors in long term use such as holes, little fluffballs forming relatively quick, etc. SOFTSTRETCH Purple Sheets are even better, in every conceivable way. The stretch just seems even more fine tuned; if you have a memory foam/latex mattress like me, you WILL notice a solid improvement from the stretch alone. The stretch sort of aids in your mattress conforming and supporting your bodyweight. They mention that these sheets sort of "unlock" the true feeling of whats underneath and I couldn't agree more. The material for the SoftStretch sheets is breathable yet sturdy, and soft as any metaphorical comparison I could make. Very soft, very breathable, and very flexible to work with many mattresses. I would like to note, I use 12' Memory Foam mattress with a Latex topper and Slumber Cloud pad on top, which comes out to about 15-16 inches in height around the mattress. The sheets say they are good up to 15 inches and I would like to mention to those who may have been slightly worried; these are super conforming, to the point where I would feel confident saying people with taller mattresses than me should probably be fine with this fitted sheet up to I'd guess 16-17 inches in height. I have had these for about a week now and I can see these being a significant amount more durable than the original Purple sheets. Looking at the fabrics used in these sheets, Purple did add some polyester, which I think is the answer to all the durability issues with the Original while keeping the stretchiness, softness, breathability. As someone who understands and works with consumer research, these follow-up sheets shout "I ACTUALLY READ WHAT PEOPLE SAID ABOUT THE ORIGINAL PRODUCT." Although not explicitly called "Purple Sheets v2" or anything to directly call it a sequel to the original, it certainly tackles the issues the original sheets had and improves upon the winning formula. TLDR; The price is a bit exorbitant, but if you love Purple, and trust in it's ability to deliver, this should be a no-brainer. If I had to choose three words to describe these sheets to people: -LUXURIOUS (ultra-soft, stretchy, attention to detail) -Breathable (heat does get trapped under/in the sheets, temp-neutral/cool to touch) -Universal (Works with and actively improves upon the feel of any material underneath)
